Moving To Desert Hot Springs, CA

white background for site.png

Desert Hot Springs is one of the Coachella Valley's fastest-growing communities and offers a different experience than neighboring cities like Palm Springs or Palm Desert. Located just north of Palm Springs, it's known for its natural hot mineral springs, panoramic mountain views, and some of the most attainable home prices in the valley.

The city has seen significant investment over the past several years, with new residential communities, local businesses, and infrastructure continuing to shape its future. It's also become a leader in California's legal cannabis industry, with licensed cultivation facilities, manufacturers, and dispensaries contributing to the local economy. Alongside its wellness resorts and mineral spas, this emerging industry has become an important part of Desert Hot Springs' continued growth.

One of the biggest draws for homebuyers is affordability. Compared to many surrounding cities, buyers can often find more home for their money, making Desert Hot Springs a popular choice for first-time buyers, growing families, and those looking to maximize their budget.

Another advantage that surprises many buyers is that a majority of the city qualifies for USDA financing. Eligible buyers may be able to purchase a home with 0% down, making homeownership more accessible than many people realize. Income limits and property eligibility do apply, so it's important to speak with a lender to determine whether you qualify.

One of Desert Hot Springs' most popular destinations is Miracle Springs Resort & Spa, a relaxing desert retreat built around the city's famous natural hot mineral water. Fed by underground aquifers, the resort's mineral pools are naturally heated and have drawn visitors seeking rest and relaxation for decades.

Whether you're booking a weekend getaway, treating yourself to a spa day, or simply soaking in one of the many mineral pools while enjoying the surrounding mountain views, Miracle Springs offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The resort also features a full-service spa, on-site dining, and comfortable accommodations, making it a favorite destination for both locals and visitors.

Cabots Museum.png

One of Desert Hot Springs' most fascinating landmarks is Cabot's Pueblo Museum. Built by explorer, artist, and homesteader Cabot Yerxa, this remarkable four-story pueblo-style home was constructed by hand over several decades using reclaimed and natural materials. Today, it's a museum that offers a glimpse into the city's early history and the life of one of its most colorful pioneers.

Visitors can take guided tours through the unique adobe-inspired structure, admire Native American art and artifacts, and learn about Cabot Yerxa's vision for Desert Hot Springs long before it became the community it is today. The museum's architecture alone makes it worth a visit, while the stories behind its construction bring the city's history to life.

Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply looking for something different to explore, Cabot's Pueblo Museum is one of Desert Hot Springs' hidden gems and a reminder of the rich heritage that helped shape the community.

Great Shakes

The menu is written on a giant chalkboard, and the list of shakes seems to go on forever. Every shake is made to order and topped off with one of their signature mini donuts perched right on the straw. They even offer lactose-free options! Also on the menu are malt, floats, & dole Whip

Whether you're strolling downtown after dinner or just looking for the perfect dessert, Great Shakes is a Palm Springs staple that's absolutely worth the stop. Just don't blame me if you find yourself planning your next visit before you've even finished your shake.
